"We have a cohort of students and those 611 students are the ones we follow," Corll said.

MC offers a variety of certificates and degrees to students and there are close to 600 certificates and degrees that are received by students per year.

"We are competitive against other community colleges across the state of Texas," Corll said. "We have a good percentage of students that transfer to universities with a 3.0 to a 3.5 GPA so we know we've prepared out students very well for universities.

"The top five universities students intend on transferring to are Texas Tech University, the University of Texas at the Permian Basin, the University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University and the University of North Texas," Corll said.

Holmes said he plans on transferring to UNT to major in electrical engineering.

Miller plans on graduating with an associate's degree at MC next semester and then transferring to UTPB to study kinesiology.

As for Suiter, he said he plans on attending Texas State University after his second year at MC to study speech pathology.
