Spring 2010 marks an all-time high enrollment for Midland College. According to the office of enrollment management, the current spring total, combined with enrollment from fall flex entry courses (courses that begin after the regular fall semester started) and the winter interim session in December/January, means that MC enrollment for the spring reporting period totals 6,982. These numbers show an increase of 8.1 percent for spring 2010 over spring 2009, when enrollment stood at 6,461.

Enrollment numbers reported Jan. 25 show that 5,999 students are enrolled this semester, surpassing the former record set in spring of 2008, when 5,972 students were enrolled.

"I am very pleased to see that all of our efforts in recruiting, advising and admitting students are paying off with another record enrollment for the spring 2010 semester," said MC President Steve Thomas. "This simply means that more and more students are taking advantage of the affordable and high-quality education provided by Midland College."

The MC service area includes Midland County, Rankin, Big Lake, Iraan, Ozona, Sanderson and Ft. Stockton where more than 250 students enroll each semester in the classes at MC's 20,000-square-foot Williams Regional Technical Training Center.
