Want to hear the struggles of every-day people just like you? The kind of people who make their stories heard, as they rise through their ordeals to make it on top in whatever game they play. Then listen to the beats and the rhyme of Atmosphere and connect with what two musical protégés have to say.

A hip-hop duo, Atmosphere, created by musical lyricist Sean Daley, also known as "Slug," came together with a company of friends in the mid 1990s to start the mold of the group. Early recordings and demos were worked on as the group slowly started to diminish due to personal issues among members.

Slug, the solo rapper, continued to write and perform for small audiences, but producer "Ant," Anthony Davis, saw what Slug had to offer and joined the artist.

The release of Overcast, the group's first release in 1998 set the company up for indie hip-hop success. "You roll without friends, but that sure don't attract them. The five man travelin' band I stand saggin' my pants," raps Slug on the Current Status track from Overcast.

As the years went on, Atmosphere released multiple albums and showed its audience that the bond had progressed since the debut album. Rising in the underground hip-hop scene, Atmosphere captured fans with their powerful messages of positivity and beats that capture the lyrics so well.

It wasn't until June of 2002 that Atmosphere released one of its most "pop-friendly" albums to date.

Dubbed God Loves Ugly, Atmosphere went on to produce two major singles off the record, and with that, came major responses from labels wanting the independent rap group.

"I will show you all you need to know. You must hold on to anyone that wants you. And I will love you through simple and the struggle. But girl you gotta understand the modern man must hustle …" an excerpt from the album.

With their newest album out on the shelves and titled, When life gives you Lemons, Paint that S**t Gold, the two decided to take a new approach about how they made their music.
